What a bummer. We meet Mouse at the 500 and my wife got a picture with him and his motorcycle overall trophy. He's a great guy and one hulluva rider. I hope he has a speedy recovery. I was wanting to see if they were gonna team up again for the 1,000. I'm sure if Mike is gonna do it he will put together a good fast team. I'm anxious to see who will win the 1000. That class is getting some good competition now and it's definitley not a shoe in for Honda anymore. They lost in the 250 and the 500.

Reports say Mike Childress will be on the Honda A team for the 1000 with Johnny and Steve. He was really looking forward to riding with Mouse. Reportedly Mouse went over the handle bars on a 4 wheel drive Quad and it landed on top of him.

While I like Johnny and Steve and think they're great riders, I too was looking forward to some competition. Maybe it will be from the KTM team.

From Cycle News:

Cycle News has learned that reigning SCORE Baja 500 Champion and Dust To Glory documentary co-star Mike ?Mouse? McCoy was seriously injured during an ATV film shoot near Vancouver, Canada, on August 22.

The 36-year-old McCoy crashed while riding the ATV and suffered a compound fracture of his left tibia and fibula. McCoy was airlifted to a Vancouver hospital where he underwent four hours of surgery. Doctors placed 12 screws and two plates into McCoy?s leg.

The injury means that McCoy could miss the SCORE Baja 1000 scheduled for mid-November.

?It?s a bummer because I had a real big-money sponsor lined up who was going to help pay for the additional riders and crew that I would need,? McCoy said. ?I?m also bummed that I?m going to miss the Nashville [Tennessee] and Reno [Nevada] rounds of the AMA Supermoto Championship. I was supposed to be riding in the 250cc class for the Troy Lee Designs Honda team.?

McCoy said that there is a slight chance he could be healed in time to compete in the Baja 1000, though he isn?t rushing to any decision to do so.

?We?re just going to have to reevaluate the situation,? McCoy said. "But overall, I feel real fortunate. I crashed big-time, and I'm lucky to not be hurt worse than I am. The bright spot is that I will recover, and I'll be back.

Happen to my Sons friend too. Flip over on him and crushed his chest, punchured his lung, broked ribs, broken pelvis, fought for his life and made it! Those things can be real dangerous!
