Mapa de Mulege

Sharksbaja - 8-26-2005 at 12:36 PM

I have been helping Bruce with this map for some time now.

We need to get places of interest and buildings to correspond with the list below.

If some of you who know the town well could locate and otherwise make note and reply I will transpose the info later onto the map. Thanks.

It will be avail on Bruces' site.

Download may take a moment or two.

Thanks Pompano, lookin' mainly for favorite/important places or stores and such. I am also working on a interactive variation with links to photos etc. Pics would represent current or common features.
I can change any of those or resize/move the buildings with minimal future effort. Once a vectored map is made complete it is very easy to modify, given you have the proper software that supports the format.

In other words.....Yep, concise photos would be great. A photo for each listing is eventually what we're looking for. Bruce has to correlate and number the references for accuracy. We want to add some GPS link info later.

I can't confirm the street accuracy, obviously, and would appreciate input and feedback.

Thats not the FIRE station on the interstate, Thats the Red Cross, or used to be.

Great looking map....good work guys.

I think the best thing to do is when you get here to get to gather and drive around town and write them in .

Thanks, this is good and headed for great. I would really have appreciated it last year when we were looking for hardware and auto parts stores.

It looks nothing like you remember, especially with Starbucks where the "yellow store" was and with the new Costco and Wallmart in place of the Orchards and Serenidad ! The lavamatica is now a 4-story Holiday Inn !
Did I mention the Hilton near the lighthouse and the bulldozers that have moved in at Coyote ?,

Diver - 8-31-2005 at 01:05 PM

Here I am at the new pool at Coyote !:lol:

Sharksbaja - 8-31-2005 at 01:11 PM

Thanks Roger I'll make the changes. Like I said, the map is in flux and it will take some time to get it unjumbled. The info was transposed from Bruces' old map and much needs to be refined. Again thanx for taking the time. Any help is appreciated.

Ahh, cartography from afar

jrbaja - 9-1-2005 at 11:23 AM

Gotta love it!:lol::lol::lol:

Having written two

jrbaja - 9-1-2005 at 11:47 AM

full color guidebooks (including 2 maps) for Playas de Rosarito while living here, I am thoroughly enjoying watching one being done for Mulege from Oregon!:lol::lol:

It wasn't that easy even living here!! Buena suerte Amigos!

sure sounds like a lot more fun than my guidebooks were! Mine are both outdated but I have copies of each here. The rest are scattered amongst travel agents and tourists throughout the u.s., canada and japan.
We had an update almost completed right when they started the new Blvd. Popotla project so that changed everything.

My books started because I got tired of answering the same questions all day, every day at the Titanic Exhibit.
Where do we eat?
Where should we shop?
Where should we stay?

I happen to have

jrbaja - 9-1-2005 at 01:34 PM

a few very old treasure maps of the Mulege area. For sale almost free to my Nomad amigos.:lol::lol:

bajaden - 9-2-2005 at 01:59 PM

Hey Sharky, I see you don't have mi casa on your map. I'am however somewhat fearful of giving out my address. When your in the witness protection system, one never knows who is going to knock on your door. lets just say Im on calle Romero Rubio.

Immmmmmmmmmmmmmmm Back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lake?? Lake Mulege? Oooh noo, not Alaska? Let's see, this cartography endeavor is being done by Bwana Bruce, who is in Colorado, but research is being done by Pompano, who is in Alaska, and being put together by Sharks, along the coast of Oregon.:lol::lol:

I see a humorous story in this somewhere along the line!:lol::lol:

It's still a little early

jrbaja - 9-2-2005 at 02:39 PM

but I'll probably catch up! Don't you see the humor? I guess it's lonely hear in dementia! Lonely but Humorous :lol::lol::bounce::bounce::bounce::no::no::no::O:O:O:?::?::?::biggrin:

so solly... my accountant said "get the books" to him so I have been a tad preoccupied. Will be updating your info this afternoon.

Pampano, after you click on the large map to open it go to the very top box that refreshes the page. This is necessary as your cached copy will be the one that it references first. Comprende?

Sharksbaja - 9-2-2005 at 02:45 PM

You're confusing me???!! No wonder the maps all goofy. I 've contracted "cartographers dementia"

bajaden - 9-2-2005 at 02:56 PM

If you could just show me a place to park my darn (edited) truck on that map. I actually drove around with Bruce and his GPS. We got lost!!! I'm not very optimistic.

Its better to appear stupid, than to open one's mouth and confirm it.

You mean this Bruce

jrbaja - 9-2-2005 at 03:01 PM

Doesn't say much for his driving to Colorado!:lol::lol:

Need more Addams family help?

Mike Supino - 9-2-2005 at 03:27 PM

bajaden - 9-3-2005 at 11:57 AM

Pampano

Thanks for the advise. Actually, Im trying to get my car out of there. Wouldn.t normally mind, except the place is closed.

Bruce made it to Colorado by the way. Miracles do happen. He said he's freezing his fanny off.
