I was given this link by fellow nomad.
Can anyone suggest which live well is best for 14' tin boat and 16' if there is a difference?
I would like the largest and best, but I want to be reasonable. Also any accessories I will need? I think mullets for YTT would be the largest
bait????
Thanks,

The most knowledgable guy on the west coast is http://www.livebaitlarry.com
Most of the guys in the tin boats in San Lucas as well as BOLA all seem to use a cooler for the tank. They use a bilge pump which they mount on the
transom, outside, for the water pick up. They also use a pvc fitting cut at a 45 degree angle to supply water when under way to the fishing area.
Both intakes require a pvc ball valve to adjust the water intake. Then the overflow is the drain and it drains about 1 1/2 inch from the top of the
cooler. Obviously this drain needs to be the next larger size, usually a 1 inch or so drain. Another great invention is to lay a small sheet of 1/4
inch foam insulation that floats on top of the water in the bait tank and keeps the splashing down to a minumum.Frank - 9-9-2005 at 02:23 PM
Larry knows his stuff. You can call him and explain what you have and what you want it to do and he will set you up right.Diver - 9-9-2005 at 06:13 PM

All the bait tanks Ive ever had on my boats were not re-circ systems. I would go with a system like this for salt, check out the PF14 http://www.livebaitlarry.com/ready_to_fish.aspSkipjack Joe - 9-10-2005 at 02:22 AM

By the way, I've seen the PF14 model being sold at the West Marine near H&M Landing in San Diego. Just in case you wanted to examine one before
purchasing.
