My mini hurricane

Tucker - 9-9-2005 at 04:37 PM

This afternoon produced some of the most violent weather that I have experienced here. It started with cloudiness, thunder rumbling and progressed to a full scale, non-stop thunder and lightning show. Dumping at least 4 inches of rain and winds in excess of probably 60 mph......It lasted more than two hours. I loved it!! The minor vado in El Centenario caused traffic to back up for several miles. I dont know about the vados in Chametla, much more potential there!

Hope the fruit trees held up okay! Thanks for the weather report.

Tucker
So was this about 2 this afternoon?
I was in Todos Santos and it was black as the ace of spades in the sierra and it was thundering more than I have ever heard in Baja.
I am not surprised that there was some severe weather from what I saw.
Did you see any damage?

Tucker - 9-9-2005 at 06:50 PM

Judy, incredible amounts of lightning and thunder(I love it!), My vision limited by beer store availibility, most closed, but lotsa water standing.

Yes, around 2 this afternoon.

El Centenario is just outside of La Paz on the road to Cuidad Constitucion.

Tucker, Thanks for the weather report. Anything else new on the hortizon? Rain wise, it has been pretty light down here in Oaxaca this week.

Tucker - 9-10-2005 at 09:43 AM

Will trade grapefruit for peanut butter!! Eli, I don't know about the weather, yesterday morning looked like another ho-hum hot summer day, until the storm hit.

Thanks for the weather report, Charles. But dang it! I'm up here in Gringolandia and missed out on a good rain.

Tucker - 9-10-2005 at 07:42 PM

Lee, I hope you didn't leave any windows open, it was one of those side-ways storms.

Marie-Rose - 9-11-2005 at 10:58 AM

Did Todos Santos get any rain??

bajajudy - 9-11-2005 at 11:19 AM

Marie-Rose

I didnt see any, sorry.
We left around 2 and there were certainly plenty of black clouds and thunder so maybe after that.
