Trip of a lifetime

Big Al - 9-16-2005 at 10:53 AM

OK here is the deal. We are headed down to La Paz for a week on October 19. We have chartered a 41 foot sailboat with a Boston Whaler in tow and two kayaks. This is a family vacation, looking for some nice beaches to day camp and possibly night camp. However we can sleep on the boat comfortably. We will do some snorkeling and fishing and whatever else we feel like doing. I am looking for fishing and snorkeling locations and tips. Anyone have some pointers for someone who has never been to La Paz. I have fished East Cape before, but with a captain from a cruiser. Fishing from the Whaler or the sailboat is what we will be doing.

Thanks in advance.

Al

I believe Moorings will furnish you with Maps and all of the Info you request. In anycase one of the places you'll want to go is Isla San Francisco, anf use the whaler to dive outside the Island, Or go out the cove in the morning turn left pulling lures, Dorado, Wahoo area.

We did not book this through Moorings. It is another small company. I don't know what they will provide.

Thanks,

Frank, I knew I would get a response from you. Can't wait to go. Work is going to be hard to get away from for that long but it will have to wait. I know you have done the drive a couple of times, any advice? How far can we get if it two guys driving hard, but safely? What about the tourist card?

Any fishing tips for us? Should we bring any frozen bait?

Thanks,

Alan

Al never fished thier but if you don't have one buy a decent fish finder and rig it uu so it can be used on the whaler or kayaks . also buy the book the baja catch , and use some of those lures they work .:smug:enjoy your trip jim
