Hows the weather in Loreto, no storms this year
backninedan - 9-16-2005 at 04:26 PM
Mid 90s today, light breeze, humidity in the 50% range, and so far no storms this summer, we really could use the rain too.

I was there two weeks ago. Even the Mexicans were sweating alot. Mucho calor. High humidity. No cooling off at night. As Oct. approaches, should
cool down --- hopefully. I am back on Oct. 1st for a month and a half.

Virinia and I kept Rcords for the 18 years we kived in Loreto;
The lowest on the Beach at Rancho Sonrisa was 48 Degrees, the Highest 98 Degrees.
We had only 6 Fans for Summer heat, and a small Electric heater for the cool Mornings when we took a Shower.
In the Early years the Wind did not Blow but about 2 days a Week during the Winter. I think that is another thing that changed the Number of Fisheman
coming to Loreto}Among others}

Skeet,
The sh*tty dorado fishing maybe another reason for the decline in fishermen. Hardly any grass this year. I don't remember if I ever met you. We had a
place in Tripui in the late 80's and I know I heard your name many a times. In late 80's we bought property in Nopolo, built and been here ever since.
Pretty much full time ,except when we have to look after some business in Sacramento. Enjoy this place immensly and just hope our health holds out.

Van; I do recall meeting you a couple of times.
Hope everything turns out good for you!
I predicted that we would not have a real good Season due to the arrival of the Tons of Squid.
Have you tried down below Agua Verde and out about 2 Miles.?

Really do not like to take my panga those distances. Usually fish ,either off San Bruno, Coronado or San francisco Bay, white cliffs. Don't care that
much for fish. Fish mainly for the cat

Skeets, maybe that third day of wind blowing is caused by some of the hot air on this board. I'm going to have to come down and see you guys one of
these days. Its only 84 miles I think. Last time I was at Agua Verde they were catching a lot of red snapper.
Whats your business in Sacramento Van. I have a business in Auburn.

I just look after some rental property now. I'm fully retired. I had a Bar/Disco in Carmichael for 23 years. Albertson's bought my lease out in 1992.
Good time to retire.

First two weeks in Oct. can be hot or can be nice. Been going there that month for thirty five years now. I have been in Loreto on the 31st of
October when it was l00 degrees at midnight. Just depends on the year. I love October in Loreto as it generally is hot in the day and cools off in
the evenings. The ocean temp. is perfect to swim in and the fishing is usually pretty good. But that is only my opinion and you may feel differently.
Thats okay too.
Skeet/Loreto - 9-19-2005 at 06:35 PM
Sharky; Right on! It all depends on the Equinox and when the Southern Flow starts back toward the Tropic of Cancer.
For years there were no storms after oct 16th. In the past few years there has been a couple.
