There must have been some rain for sure in Northern Baja as we had about two or three hours of Thunderstorms here in San Diego last night. It was a
show for sure.

No sleep here until 5 am! From midnight on, wave after wave of thunder and lightning strikes! Popped the power a couple times.. rattled the windows
with big bangs... Never experienced that before here in coastal San Diego in 48 years of memories! Good thing it rained too, so I could sleep in a
litttle...

Lightning, Thunder and rain here in the High-Desert starting at about 8 p.m. last night. Raining lightly at present. Brief losses of power too
numerous to count. Typical up here. I foolishly set a DVD recorder to record a movie from 1230 a.m. to 3 a.m. Should have known it was destined to
fail.

We loved the light show last night here in Imperial Beach, but a few got a little too close for comfort, and one of our poor dogs was a wreck.
Does anyone know where if anywhere it rained in the costal area of Northern Baja?

Lots of lightning and thunder in South Orange County, but hardly any water in a bucket I had outside. Probably less than 0.1 inches for the storm,
although some sprinkles outside my office window now adjacent to OC airport.
if youre going by the theory of seconds=miles...

we had some pretty close calls last night here in laguna,the sound of the thunder was easily as loud as i've ever heard in my life

During a monsoon storm in Aug 03, we were sitting in our Dolphin while the house interior was being worked on. After numerous CLOSE lightning
strikes, we had one that lit up everything, shook the Motorhome and resounded with a huge clap, then all power went out. I said "Damn", that was
close. Walked out back and found the transformer on the pole next to our property line smoking. That WAS close.
Back in the mid 80s, a lightning bolt struck a tree immediately adjacent to my wife's parents house. Her stepdad let out a gasp and dropped to the
floor DEAD. Our son (11) called my wife at work to say that he was laying on the floor, but it didn't look like he was breathing. Heck of an
experience for a little kid, but he handled it well. I guess the Lightning Bolt was God's calling card.

Val and I were camped on Shell Island at Percebu in Aug of 03 and I remember thinking we were screwed several times with REALLY close strikes on the
beach. Damn storm lasted all night - mostly out over the water. Flash rumble rumble rumble CRACK. I kept looking up at the aluminum center pole
supporting our camo net shelter and wondering if it was higher and more conductive than the surrounding dunes. There was so much energy in the air my
hair was standing on end (that might have been fear too). We watched Campo Percebu and the surrounding desert get zapped a bunch of times that night.
The damn dog slept and snored through the whole night.
