T.S. Stan

If T.S. Stan crosses over Mexico into the Pacific and stays a storm or go goes into Hurrican status does it still keep its same name, being that Atlantic storms have different names?

Hurricane Cesar

Main article: Hurricane Cesar

Hurricane Cesar formed off the coast of Venezuela, near Cura?ao, on July 25. It travelled west, and landfall occurred near Bluefields, Nicaragua on July 28, with Cesar at Category 1 strength. A weakened Cesar moved into the Pacific Ocean where it was renamed Hurricane Douglas. The previous hurricane to strike Nicaragua, 1988's Hurricane Joan, also made the transition to a Pacific hurricane.

There were 51 deaths caused by Cesar, 26 of which were in Costa Rica. Most deaths were due to flooding and mudslides caused by Cesar's heavy rainfall.

No Worries, Mate

Stan is going to poop out over the mainland and not going anywhere.

Bill

That might be true, but it could be feeding another nasty buildup off of Acapulco. Don from Cabo posted that its basically over I hope he doesn't have to eat those words.

I don't hear no fat lady singing.

I sure hope I don't have to eat them either! Also hope I did not jinx us all.

Regards, Dan.

You're right, she isn't singing yet. It's almost eerie that we got such a free pass through ALMOST the entire season.

Dan

Did you think about it when you wrote it or after, I've been thinking jinx all day, but I'm stupidstitious.

Comitan

if the storm remains a t.s. all the way to the Pacific and keeps going, the name remains the same.
If it dips below t.s. status and later regains strength over the pacific it will get the next pacific name

I just heard that on the weather channel

Well we learn something new every day. Thanks
