We are coming over from San Carlos, Sonora by boat (33' fishing boat) to the Mulege and Bahia Conception area on Oct 28th - 30th. Even though we've
been at SC for many years, we've never seen your part of the Sea of Cortez.
We can sleep on our boat, but prefer to have a room on shore if possible.
Any recommendations on:
? A motel on a beach, that we can keep the boat in close view?
? A marina that we could rent a slip and then stay most anywhere?
? If we can?t get a slip, is there a ponga service for going ashore?
? Any suggestions?

The only 'slips' in the area are up at Santa Rosalia, inside the breakwater. You are within walking distance of several places to room if you wish,
shopping and restaurants nearby, but not much 'atmosphere' there in the breakwater...
South at Bahia Concepci?n, most of the 'beach' communities have shallows that prohibit you from anchoring in too close. We have a Palapa at Playa los
Naranjos, the link mentioned above. The water is only 4-5 feet or so out about 100-150 yards, so it's pretty much for small boats with little draft.
If you draw 5-6 feet, you can probably make it onto the 'shelf' if you eyeball the sounder - it's all sandy bottom there. They have bungalows for
rent that have beds, showers, baths, and lights, or plain Palapas on the beach itself with showers and flush toilets behind. Naranjos is on the
RIGHT, the first 'populated' beach, as you enter the Bahia - most vessels with larger drafts usually stay way out, close to the western shore of the
Bahia.

I meter 12 feet at Naranjos...it's a sand bar...no rocks to speak of
We anchored in our 23 footer for a month a couple of years ago.
No problems

it's the Serenidad, but there is no suitable anchorage immediately adjacent.
Hey, if money is no object, there is the hotel out at Punta Chivato. Good anchorage and easy dinghy access. Possibly the closest option for you from
San Carlos. They may even have moorings available.
Hook: what is the travel time from Coyote Bay to the center of Mulege and what's the best method.
Any listing of houses for rent.

By water, maybe 20-25 minutes, at panga speed under good conditions. About the same by taxi. You DO mean Coyote and not Santispac, correct?
Sorry, I have no listing. I was "beating the bushes" with a theoretical suggestion and am hoping someone might know someone who might know
someone..........and then post it here.
Someone at Ana's or Ray's or possibly a homeowner in Posada Concepcion might know how to accomplish this. Posada occasionally has rentals, too, but
the tidal flat there is more problematic.

Sorry about the lack of clarity on Casa De Los Suenos.
If traveling south it sits about 1 mile south of Santispac on the hill immediately before dropping down to Posada. There is a small sign on the
seaward side of Mex 1 and a small parking area down the hill.
Jerry and Eileen are normally available on the internet, but their computer took it upon itself to crap out.
I can contact them if you have further questions.
And, Hook, you are absolutely right, it is a fabulous place. Nice deep water within 15 meters of shore, a small (very small) pier, sandy beach,
kayaks for rent, and a small very hot water spring right at waters edge.
Those are the physical things, the beauty of the place is enhanced by the host and hostess. Eileen Evanshen is truly a gourmet cook! And there are
normally all the services normally found elsewhere, including 24 hour internet service via DirecWay, CrystalVoice phone service, and all else normally
associated with the internet. (When the computer is back in service, soon they hope!).

Thank you for your advice. We leave San Carlos at 7 AM on Friday morning and should be by Mulege at 1 PM or so. We plan on staying at Playa Naranjos.
If anybody is close to them or can get a message to them we would like to have a couple of Casitas for this Friday and Saturday (Oct 28th and 29th).
Maybe we will see ya at the pig roast on Saturday.
