I posted this in the Nomad 'My Baja Wedbsite' forum, but was hoping to get more exposure by posting it here:
Calling all amateur photographers!
I am preparing to change the home page photos on the baja conservation site. The current photographs by Ken Bondy are an amazing and inspiring sample
of the wildlife and landscapes of Baja California and the Sea of Cortez.
For the next set of photographs I am looking for photos that *tell a story* of the relationship between people and the environment/ecology of the Baja
California peninsula and/or the Sea of Cortez (see the photo below as an example). However, there do not have to be people *in* the photo.
Why am I seeking photos of people in relation to the environment? Because we are all intimately connected to the environment our actions can
ultimately have positive or negative influences on the land or with the animals in that environment. The environment can provide us with profound
physical or spiritual experiences. Sometimes this connection brings up admittedly uncomfortable feelings, especially when an experience challenges our
deeply held beliefs. Whether the photo tells a ?positive? or ?negative? story, it?s this connection between humans and the environment that I am
looking for in the photo submissions.
If there are enough entries I'll select one photo each from seven different people. In return for selecting your photo it will appear on the home
page one day every week for a minimum of 6 months. So pick your best shot (Multiple submissions are welcome if you have more than one you?d like to
enter). That?s a different person's photo for each day of the week. Please remember to provide proper copyright information (e.g. copyright: joebaja
2005), date of photo, location, names of people or animals if applicable, and a statement that says you took the photo. High resolution digital images
are preferred. Scanned images are ok if they are of high quality.
Send submissions to greg@bajacaliforniaconservation.org
Please contact me if you have any questions. Thank you for your interest and participation!

Hey Friends - With all the good photos out there, surely some of you can find one you'd like to offer Greg for his website.... think about it.
