Thanks for sharing !!Taco de Baja - 10-16-2005 at 01:35 PM
The beach in the first pic is a little south of Punta San Jose' (El Faro San Jose') and I believe it is called Ballenas.
The road pics and camp area are on road to the coast between the Catavina area and the coast.
I'd post a GPS point...but would probably get in trouble if i did

Heck Brooks, live dangerously! I promiss not to tell the 200 surfers standing behind me here in Oceanside looking for that special spot!Tomas Tierra - 10-16-2005 at 07:36 PM
don't spill the beans...soulpatch - 10-16-2005 at 07:58 PM
I did that stretch of coast about 2 years ago w/a friend from Erendira to Puerto Santo Tomas and it was beautiful and empty except for El Faro San
Jose.... and only 2 people there, probably because the surf sucks so bad there.
The last stretch into La Bocana we had to do some serious shovel work to get thru some road collapses... how was it on your trip last year?Tomas Tierra - 10-16-2005 at 08:25 PM
wrong pot of beans soulpatch..your to far northsoulpatch - 10-16-2005 at 10:15 PM
I must have misread the Punta San Jose..... my map shows it to be about due west of Santo Tomas. I've been wrong plenty, though.
Is Snardsville kind of like Oxnardsville, one of the other large Mexican cities?Taco de Baja - 10-17-2005 at 07:39 AM
There're lots of "San Jose" places in Baja .
This one actually has an old man, named Jose, living there with some of his sons.soulpatch - 10-17-2005 at 10:00 AM
Damn, I'll have to hit a few more stretches of coast then......Tomas Tierra - 10-17-2005 at 11:48 AM
This stretch is very rugged but worth the go... Take two vehicles and a as many spare tires as you can handle..
Yup you got snardsville right...Oxnard..not just another pretty name..
Downtown snard is alot like san quintin.. but the food is a little better..no pastor on the spit though soulpatch - 10-17-2005 at 12:27 PM
A few years ago, like 15-20 I used to grab lunch on 6th between C and B at Taco de Mexico. Killer chile rellenos and carne asado. Also at La Perla,
which I know doesn't exist anymore, the calabasitas was sooooo good.Tomas Tierra - 10-18-2005 at 10:01 AM
I always went (and still go) to the taco de mexico down on saviers.
There was a guy there for 18 years wrapping burritos,Lalo. He just recently moved on to greener pastures...Baja fresh..He was always so cool about
correcting my spanish.
