freediving chivato

fishinrich - 10-17-2005 at 10:22 AM

After three weeks of red tide over on the pacific side and two weeks of green water in bola I am happy to report the water around punta chivato is great. Temp 81, vis along the shore--25' to30' and around the islands over 50'. Sierra and yellows are the free swimmers I have been shooting, both around 6lbs. On the bottom the leopard grouper and bumpheads have supplied excellent eating each night for roja, nicole and I. The camping beach is very sleepy, we have a whole section to ourselves. Carlos the shrimp seller comes by every four days selling jumbo's that make mighty tasty shrimp omelettes for lunch. Will report back in another week when I am back in town resupplying with water and veggies. Went up to the hotel last night for a few pina collada's, they sure were tasty, will stop in for dinner sometime in the comming week. fishin rich

Be sure and give us a detailed update on your meal at the hotel. I know you have been pleased with them in the past, but it is always good to hear recent news.

Have you ever seen if they will prepare your catch for you? I used to love that at the old hotel......drinking on the patio while they prepared your fish for you, including cleaning and scaling it. I loved having it done fried whole with the garlic.

Hook and Rich... I am salivating for what you guys are eating at Chivato! Yummy!

Rich, BajaMur called me a couple days ago to report the first time he got skunked at Camalu... I think it was the lousy weather that was moving in Sunday-Tuesday here.
