Can anyone give a personal observation of the wind and wave heights today on the SOC around Mulege or offshore of there.
I've already checked out buoyweather.

BTW, if the anchorage off Los Frambles isn't to your liking, it may be better more towards Playa Arenas, especially if a northern wind sets up. But

Anchorage is better around the corner...
If you anchor at Naranjos...make a deal with Armando to use the showers and Bathrooms...or rent a Palapa....
Some Canadians left their boat in front for a couple months last year and rented a Palapa with a tent.

It certainly looks like it would be protected from the south. How is it's protection from the northerlies? Is there anchorage for something that

It is pretty much protected...not as much as Santispac...everytime I've been there it's flat.
I don't think there a perfect spot but this is NICE!!!
Plenty of depth about 8 feet....backed my boat right to the shore to clean fish....no problem.
A couple of BIG sailboats stayed there last year...and yhey have those big "scaggs" on the bottom
Lots of WHITE sand...no rocks
NO Facilities...Very Very secluded....about 7 miles to the mouth of the Mulege River

but the north wind is only supposed to last for the one day and night, Monday. Predictions show it slacking off considerably after that.
If convenient, try and hail the locals of Posada Concepcion, Burro or Coyote on the two-way and ask them to check the weatherunderground Santa Rosalia

It?s flat as a pancake this morning, calmer than I?ve seen it lately...but the breeze comes in every day for the north and it usually gets some small
one to two foot chop...not really bad, and weather is in mid to high 80s....just about perrrrfect!
wish we could stay longer, but got to head back north on Monday, mas o menos...

Thanks. We made it over okay. Quite flat, 1-2 foot waves about 3/4 of the way. As Mexray said, flat as a pancake the last 1/4. We ran 30-33mph
and then 40-45mph. Got up 50 for a little bit. Made it in under 3 hours.
There is a North wind coming Monday, so we are going to go back a day early.
Beautiful weather so far. We hit Santispac, Mulege, Chivato, and are currently in Santa Rosalia.

Back on the other side. Great weather for the crossing, but definitely a few adventures going across. Wind is starting to really pick up here.
When we left the cruiser nets were predicting 25 knots by 4PM and up to 40 early tomorrow. So we had a 4-5 hour window.

Yeah, many predictions of temps in the 90s in the LA basin today.
But the winds are predicted to abate by Tuesday up here. Probably would have taken till Wednesday down there?
