Congratulations to all participants in the 2005 Bisbees Black and Blue Marlin Tournment. They reported over 450 Marlin released over the course of
the three days of event fishing 26/27/28 October - BRAVO!
The billfish tournaments are now officially finished for calendar year 2005. The final 2005 tournament is the Western Outdoor News Tuna Tournament.
We have a few boats remaining available to charter for this event.
Spectacular weather this week for visiting anglers and guests on land. Sunny and warm days with highs averaging in the low to mid 90's. Evenings
cool down comfortably to the mid to upper 60's.
We are surrounded by the grand Pacific Ocean to the West and the bountiful Sea of Cortez to the East. Weather patterns affect us from the north at
this time of the calendar year so it can get blustery some days and nights.
Friends in the San Jose area have seen Whales from their porches so we can now say "The Whales are here!! The Whales are here!!" The Spanish word
for whale is "Ballena" prounounced "Bi-yenna" An extraordinary part of nature to be witnessed. It is possible to see whales while you are out
fishing as "everyone" swims together in our waters. Watch for the spout spray of water as they come to the surface. Their powerful tail crashing on
the waters surface is awesome! Its a thrill to see them breech the water. Sometimes you will see calves swimming alongside learning from their
mamas.
Watch fish jump on the water from your room with a view at any number of wonderful resort choices: Pueblo Bonito Rose and Blanco, Riu Palace, Villa
Del Palmer, and others provide a spectacular view of Los Arcos, the granite mountain at "Finisterra" which is Spanish for "Lands End".
Many resorts offer wonderful dining overlooking the Sea of Cortez. Some of our favorite view restaurants include Puerta Vieja, Casa Del Mar
Restaurant, the restaurant at Villa Serena, the Grill and Restaurant De Cortez at the Sheraton Hacienda Del Mar Resort, and the beachfront restaurant
at Club Cascadas. Reservations are invited. On the Pacific Ocean Side, you can find wonderful choices including the aptly named Whale Watcher at the
Hotel Finesterra, and at the Pueblo Bonito properties including Sunset Beach and their newest property The Holistic Spa. You can find information on
all of these fine establishments on this website.
