been looking at some pics on the web of this place, thinking about heading there for christmas...any good camping/fishing spots in the area...also considering if i do go down there i might cross over to the Lopez Mateos area and possibly fish some of those estuaries...any info on either of those places would be much appreciated:bounce:

We always camp at Juncalito on the beach driving down. Then we can get to La Paz in 1/2 day and set up the boat to live in. There are always motorhomes and trailers there in addition to tent campers. We like it as it gives a beach for the dog to run on after 3 days on the road.

But, last we heard the beach was fenced off and camping not allowed. Of course, this happens in Baja from time to time and then it is reopened. Anyone have some recent information on camping at Juncalito beach? We will be heading down the end of November and might have to make other plans for this stop. Thanks.

Lots of rigs parked at Juncalito last week.

I heard from someone two days ago that the gate was down at Juncalito.
Big rigs are okay in there as long as they keep to the left at the bottom of the road towards the lighthouse. At least my friend's 36' fifth wheel makes it in there okay every year. Always safe to check out the road first though, of course.
See ya there next week. Have a Good one.
