Ensenada, Baja California - The 38th SCORE Tecate Baja 1000 is only days away as professional and amatuer off road racing teams from around the world
prepare to battle one of the most difficult race courses seen at a Baja 1000 in many years. The mystic of the Baja Peninsula is often described by off
road racing veterans as a love affair. At times it could be the most difficult challenge ever seen by a human being and other times its the most
beautiful creature experienced in a lifetime.
SCORE Founder & CEO, Sal Fish, has created a course that some would say is the world's toughest off-road race course. Other racers simply shake
their heads and prepare for battle. However, they will all come and challenge themselves against what is considered the grandaddy of all off-road
races. This year's race is a 709-mile difficult challenge that will slow the most technologically advanced off road race vehicles in recent history to
an estimated winning speed of less than 50 miles per hour.
The trials and tribulations of defeat and triumph will be strewn throughout the loop race course over a period of some 30-hours, a time limit that
some have already stated should be increased.
Not a Sunday drive that's for sure.
