blown off the beach

fishinrich - 11-18-2005 at 08:15 AM

The camping beach at punta chivato was a great way to spend the last six weeks. Four days ago the wind started blowin and wednesday morning by first light it was howlin big time. Sideways sheets of sand hammering down on you. My camp was in the process of being dismanteled so we just grabed what had not been blown into the water and loaded up the truck and trailer to head inland. Looks like the party might be over as this wind will turn the water over and make it ugly. fishin rich

WIND

Hey fishinrich!
Its the same in San Felipe, started blowing Tuesday, slacks off at night, starts from the west in the early AM then shifts to the north, it will be a dusty Mil 1000. I have gusts to 30 MPH at KM 54 S on 5.

High pressure in the Great Basin, howling winds down the Mar de Cortez.
Hold onto your socks...more comin' from the looks of this litte Santa Ana.

Winds are crankin' here in San Diego and up through Ventura County w/numerous fires started. I would imagine that is pushing a TON of air down the SOC.

I saw the Ventura fire information on the news this morning. At the time, no homes were threatened. :D

There was mention of a gasoline storage area being threatened. There was not any mention of how much gasoline will go up, across the nation today, as a result of the fire threat to this one storage facility. :o
