Does anyone know the cost to rent a car in Loreto? Since I will be flying down I will need one to get around at least for a few days out of my visit.
Just trying to know the cost of things as there are some side trips to make, then in a few more day's and I am outta here!

Be sure to reserve it online, its much cheaper than a walk in price. We now have Hertz, Budget, and Europcar. Im not sure who has the best deal.

I have just confirmed a reservation for a VW Golf with Europcar at $153 per week. This is through Alaska Airlines partner program. Total for 2 weeks
including taxes and fees is $345. Also, check with your Mastercard or Visa holder, many times their benefit packages include Gobal Assist, which
provides medical coverage and collision damage waiver coverage. The collision coverage is quite expensive otherwise, usually about $24 to $26 per
day.
Avoid Car Rentals

Loreto has always been over priced, and you should try to avoid the "car rental" $$
You can walk just about anywhere in town.
The LoretoBay development has not helped, as everyone who comes down to tour, needs to rent additional vechicals to get back and forth to town (no
cars allowed in LoretoBay)

I rented with Hertz in April and as some other posters said, it can be expensive once the insurance costs are added in. If you do rent, be sure to get
full coverage insurance. It may cost more but if anything happens you will be better off in terms of your expenses after an accident or break-in.
That's just my 2 cents and I understand that others may not feel the same on the insurance coverage.
Have a great trip!!
I rented a car last October at LTO...

I had a reservation with Europcar I made on-line ahead for the economy class. Europcar beat the other two offered there (Hertz and Budget) by about
ten bucks/day. Car cost was $18 USD/day and tax was $18 USD/day= $36/day. Counter person said it would be a little cheaper if I rented out of town
because of the "airport fee". She also said if I used a taxi to get into town to their office it would cost more overall than just renting at the
airport. Car was brand new/clean. Insurance would have been another $25 USD/day had I taken it.
