We stuck around Punta Banda after the race to celebrate Thanksgiving at "home". Dern's dad Joe was with us, his first Baja race experience. This is
the second year we will spend Thanksgiving with "Grandpa Joe".
Our friend Terry has recently finished a remodel at his house along with the purchase of a loooong handcarved dining room table. It must be over 12
ft. long. The only way to get it into the house was through a window on the second story. This year Terry was the host, as we had the dinner at our
house last year.
We had brought down two turkeys, one for Terry's house and one for ours. It's not really Thanksgiving if your house doesn't smell like roasting
turkey!
We had planned on buying most of the vegies at the local fruiteria, but I think that most of the local American's had beat us to it while we were
camping out on the race course.
The hunt for real butter was tricky. Four mercados later we finally found some. The sweet potatoes were sad, and pretty picked through so we skipped
them this year. All in all we had a delicious dinner and good company stretched along a looong table top over looking the lights of Ensenada.
The next day Dern, Joe and Cody took the panga out fishing. After an easy beach launch and a quick return home trip by me to retrieve the forgotten
squid, they were off to the tip of Punta Banda. They returned around 2pm with a nice selection of bottom fish. There were no yellowtail to be had.
The fish were cleaned, then two of them joined us for dinner up at Gordo's where Chuy's wife Chawa cooked them up "entero" for us. A nice plate of
freshly caught fish, rice, beans, salad, tortillas and salsa for $4. US.
Dern managed to get a couple of days of painting in on the house, but the work seems to never get finished. We'll be back in a little over two weeks
to greet Santa as he comes down our chimney.
I'll attempt a few photos.

Cody is growing up, and as pretty as her mom! Reminds me of the photos 'Bedman' took of my Sarah when she was that age!
