With a near race-record 342 starters competing in 24 Pro and 5 Sportsman classes for cars and trucks, motorcycles and ATVs, the team of Larry Roeseler, Hesperia, Calif./Troy Herbst, Las Vegas, successfully defending their overall 4-wheel vehicle and unlimited Class 1 titles in the granddaddy of all desert races.

I thought it was pretty good coverage overall. They covered a number of classes including MCs. Showed a MC crashing near the sulfur mines area and Scott Steinberger TT in a deep ditch toward Matomi. I just wish the commentors would do a little more homework about the sport. To the average person whos never been involved with off road racing it comes across OK, but to someone who has it makes them sound stupid on some of their comments, it's still entertaining however.

Tom,
Thats almost what Sal Fish said last night at the awards ceremony. He said he was very proud to have an hour coverage on NBC but was going to call them on Monday. He said he would like to be involved with the script of the program.

Paul,
I think if Sal got his hands into to the pot, you would see about half of the mototcycle stuff.
Motorcycles don't pay Score's bills.
Trucks pay his bills.

I thought it was good and am excited to see the sport getting air time but I agree it had a lot of commentary flaws.
