Is bright orange. The smoke from San Diego is creating an eerie atmosphere and Carol is ready to take her truck to Valley Center to help Dad evacuate.
This is what the winds do to us.
And for the surfers

Roads to Valley Center

As far as I've heard on the ham radio emergency nets that have been put into effect since the start of this madness this morning (or last night, I
should say)...alot of Valley Center roads are closed. As I type, the evacuation center at Valley Center HS is currently being closed because the fire
is too close...they'll be moving to the Catholic Church. (may He watch over them ALL!) Lots of other roads throughout the county are currently closed
due to mass evacuations. Tierrasanta & portions of Scripps Ranch are evacuated. In addition to that, SDG&E has requested that power consumption be
minimized as the result of a high power transmission line has been burned out & compromising the system. We've just fueled all our vehicles & jerry
cans and are ready to provide emergency communications should the need arise. See, all that playin' around in the desert we do pays off...we're ready
for field ops!
This is a great drill for everybody...formulate your disaster plans & be ready for ANYTHING!!!

Regardless of whether you live in So Cal or not, remember...be prepared!

And so is Carol's Dad's who has been there since 1967. That's where we lived before moving to Rosarito and we saw fires that were put out immediately
with bombers. Don't know what happened this time but those winds I am sure were to blame. We have friends in Julian and east county and have not been
able to get in touch with any of them . I am sure that they have lost some of their homes watching the fire paths. This has been devastating for many.
