If anyone can provide a link to that article... I would appreciate it. Francisco Munoz flew Erle Stanley Gardner* over Baja on many occaisons in the 1960's. I have some photos of Munoz at http://choralpepper.com from those years.

* Gardner is the creator of Perry Mason.

Grover,

If you look in the upper right corner of page 67 you will see, in very small print "Originally published in the Reader on September 21, 1995. Several of the stories in the Reader have been recycled recently. Budget cuts I guess.

Captain, consider it done. I will first try the scan, but I think I will end up mailing you the article. The way they print the rag it is on many different pages surronded by lots of adds for boob jobs and such.

David, the Reader is available at your local grocery/liqour store for free. Check it out.

thx so much for taking the time to get it to me. am scanning it to a word doc and sending it out to a lot of BBP enthusiasts!

and it has sparked my interests in reading Gardner's baja books if i can find them - on that note, anyone have a clue on where to find them.

elgatoloco - 1-17-2006 at 08:32 AM

You are welcome.

I have several of his Baja books. They are all in storage until remodel is done. I will see if I can locate them.

Mike, there are many used book sites that we use to add to our Baja collection... AddAll.com has several Baja books, for example.

I have several photos showing Captain Mu?oz at http://ChoralPepper.com a couple were used in Gardner's books... or taken at the same time.

Here is one showing Mu?oz (on the left) expressing himself with Dr. Carlos Margain... who was the archeologist Erle Stanley Gardner had Mu?oz fly into San Ignacio to show him the new (and old) discoveries in the nearby mountains...

Matt - don't go to any extra trouble, i can wait - my current reading list is way long. call me when you and Barb have finished the project and i'll fly over and help you celebrate the new digs and maybe pick up a vol or 2.

Don johnson is a close personal friend of the Capitan and has relayed several munoz stories/"yarns" to me......what a guy!
