There's now a small plywood building at the Jesus Maria Pemex with a sign, "Tamales La Famosa Carmelita"--a decided upgrade from the days when she
sold the famous tamales out of a blue enamel bucket. A similar shop next to this one--also new [at least to me]--advertizes "Tortas La Casita."
Just before the station [if you're heading south] some ospreys have a nest atop a utility pole on the left side of the road. They did a really
impressive amount of tweetling [if this is a word] when we stopped to take pics.
The side road to Rosalillita has been widened to allow a safe turn-off, so maybe something is finally going on there. It's been more than a year since
our last visit, so we'll make a stop at the town on our way back to LP.
