The following is a quote from George's blog. He is wintering in Santa Rosalia and his blog is located at http://vagabonders-supreme.net/blog/blog.html. I'm curious if anyone else has tried this?
"Remember a few weeks ago we told you that we would no longer be concerned about the Pemex cheating us? Well, apparently we must have thought that one
thru again, because MsTioga is carrying our 25 liter gas can today. On the way back from San Lucas RV Park, we stopped at the Pemex, and filled the
can. The price on the pump when the 25 liter can was filled showed $172 pesos. The quantity on the pump was 27.8 liter. Hmmmmm?
However, when we punched in the numbers on our calculator, the price was different. Wow! We were sooooooo surprised! The price for the gas is $6.21
pesos per liter. So 25 liters should be $155 pesos. The attendant told me that I would have to speak to the manager.
I carried the filled gas can into the manager's office, and showed him that the mark on the can was 25 liters, and showed him the calculator was $155
pesos. And that is what we paid. Not one bit of an argument.
When the gas from our can was emptied into MsTioga's tank, the gas meter moved just about the same amount as it moved last time. About 1/4 tank.
However last time, we paid $500 pesos, instead of $155 pesos. So the Pemex is still way ahead of us."

You have given me a great ideal! My fuel tank holds 80 gallon. That is 1880.59 Paso's at today prices.
I don't know how much I would be cheated using your figures, but it really worries me. I don't know how well it would be received, but if I carried a
measured 20 or 25 liter can and if it was off I would complain and go to the next Pemex if I could find one or only buy enough to get to another.
Maybe someone could sale a 15 liter certified jug?? Maybe BajaCactus?

Baja Cactus' pumps are straight, one of very very few honest Pemexes in Baja. I try never to have to buy gas in Sta. Rosalia but San Ignacio's not
much better. Buying just enough to get to the next is fine for travelers but not much help to people who live in SR. Unfortunately, Pemex is one of
the most corrupt governmental or quasi-governmental entities in Mexico and they're just not going to do anything about it. I'm sure Antonio loses
money by not following suit, but hopefully the goodwill he generates pays off in the long run. I know I never pass El Rosario without filling up,
even if it's just topping off.

I'm glad the oil companies here in the States are beyond reproach. They just raise the price to $3.00 a gallon whenever they want more money, but
they give you an honest gallon of gas for your three bucks. They don't have to rip you off when they can do it legally.

Yes that's why Chevron just posted the largest profit gains in History with a 10 BILLION $$ quarterly profit....Who's getting hosed?

It was Exxon that posted those profits, and now they are downplaying it by saying they didn't make as high a percentage profit as the pharmaceutical
companies and the banks. Yea, and Ken Lay is probably going to say he didn't
steal as much as Tyco's Dennis Kozlowski, and World Com's Bernie Ebbers.
"It's supply and demand they say" and they control the supply so they can fix the price anywhere they want it by manipulating the supply. By the way,
did anyone notice any gas lines for the $3.00+ gas? You could get all the gas you wanted. It was more about them setting the price where they wanted
it, and you just had to pay it, seeing there is no real competition in the market anymore.
