Ola from Mulege

Diver - 1-30-2006 at 12:52 PM

We finally made it.
First day at El Requeson my back went out, what fun.Today we try to get the boat motor fixed while the wife and kiddies hang at the beach.

I had the pleasure of meeting Pompano's lovely wife yesterday (he was out fishing don't ya know). I'll try to catch Rogelio again while we're in the area.

I met Senior Bruce today while in town doing the family laundry. A very nice man with a nice little business. A great source for all your needs in Mulege.

I took a phot of a 4BAJA licensed jeep pulling into the Pemex south of town yesterday.

Wish we had some NOMAD stickers Doug !

Time for more quarters in the dryers...... more later !
BTW, it's sunny and high seventies with a gentle breeze. I hear it's supposed to get hot later this week.

Well, we finally met Diver..a fellow Nomad. What a treat that was!

Diver, you are to be admired for having such a great family. We enjoyed having you, your wife and your children for dinner and a good conversation on the patio afterwards. (But you forgot to take home those fish fillets!) Your young son and daughter were adorable. Felipa would immediately mother-hen them if given half a chance.

We hope your camping trip south is very enjoyable. Please stop by anytime you are back in our area...always room at our table and fireside.

Nomads becoming friends, in person... Great benefit.

I even looked for DK's Tacoma on both trips through El Rosario !

Bruce, sorry I didn't get back. I had the trailer hooked up on my way north.
Hope to see you again for a longer visit next year.

On my way north (trying to make San Ignacio before dark), I noticed a strange sign at Coyote that read "Rogers House - Pompano". I have a feeling I missed another great party !?!?
Congrats to Gary on winning the tourney ! Nice fish for a guy from Oregon !
If you and Felipa come north via the Gorge, please plan a visit.

Yes, you missed a good fiesta, Diver. Next time.

Mi amigo, Gary, not only won the tournament, but made me mucho pesos after I bought him in the calcutta auction. Next year WE will endeavor to catch the big one!

You betcha..we will stop when coming through the Gorge headed Up North. Happy trails, nomad.

Ola is a wave (like in the ocean) in Spanish - Hola is hello. Sorry to be part of the spelling police but in this case it DOES make a difference

...in that same vein...could then 'Olas Altos' be understood to be a modern 'High Five', as it's actually, 'High Waves'...(I know, a different kind of 'wave')...;)

Ah, Olas Altos, fond memories of lounging at a side walk caf? with friends, beneath the old Bal Mar Hotel in Mazatlan, looking across Playa Olas Altos waiting for the 'Green Flash', as the sun sets far out in the Pacific! Just plain relaxing!

I think there's an Olas Altas in every beachside Mexican city! Puerto Vallarta for sure!
