In December I got this crazy idea to video tape the entire Pole Line Run (#3) from start to finish. The Pole Line Run is a 4WD trip that takes 3 days
to complete. It features some of the worst 4WD trails anyone could think of; deteriorating dirt roads with 5' ditches running alongside, split shelf
roads that can easily roll an SUV, arroyo crossings filled with rocks and boulders, and a nasty canyon named "Basketball Hill" filled with
beachball-sized rocks which must be negotiated.
Tonight, I'm starting post-production and am hopeful that my first project is not laughable, but a solid work. I received help from David K and Neal
Johns who provided additional insight into this region, along with several 4WD drivers who didn't mind me videotaping them in their worst possible
moments.
In 4-6 weeks, I hope to be finished, and I'll let everyone know when I'm ready to show it off!BOLABOUND - 2-8-2006 at 07:43 PM

Ken...I am planning to do this also based on the BAJA 500 pre-run that I will do....and was wondering if other NOMADS would be interested in
joining....
Can you post more details of the filming?.....How many cameras...type...how much did you shoot?....will you have music/audio?....how are you
editing?....
Any info would help.Ken Cooke - 2-10-2006 at 06:03 PM
Well, I got this Sony Digital Handycam, and then integrated a Hitachi laptop running several software programs for several different purposes:
Sony VX2100 Handycam
Hitachi Pentium laptop w/
Sony Vegas Video - audio & video editing, credits. Audio mastering.
Sonar 2XL - Audio sequencing, audio edits, sound fx generation.
Photoshop - Digital photo editing.
Roland JP8000 & Korg Karma music workstations for audio fx.
J. Beltran - licensed one of his songs for use in video.
My Sony Handycam was put to bed dusty at night...
Hope this helps!surfer jim - 2-10-2006 at 07:16 PM

I'll be glad to delve into another project once this one is finished...We don't live too far apart, and with regards to production, that's a good
thing.

what are the dates of the race??Ken Cooke - 3-9-2006 at 08:20 PM
The finished video (minus the end credits) is 68 minutes in length. Still in the works is all of the audio composing, and then it will be completely
finished.
Next on my plate will be a trailer that I will post on-line. That way, people will be able to view the trailer before sending away for it...David K - 3-10-2006 at 08:15 AM

Lou,
I was able to use a screen you previously produced. Don't worry about the work I asked you to do...bajalou - 3-10-2006 at 08:40 PM
Sorry about that Ken. I'll probably do it anywayjust for the fun of it but glad you were able to get something.
