Hunting and/or fishing in Baja poll.

Pompano - 2-21-2006 at 02:46 PM

There has been many comments lately on those threads pertaining to this subject. I would be interested in your attitude on fishing or hunting in Baja..hence: a poll. Do you fish and/or hunt... or do neither?

p.s. I think I need to add another answer to that poll....'fish and hunt.' But how do I add it to the poll....I was lucky to just get the first poll up in the first place!

Pomp: Since my use of the word "Huntable" caused such a Stink I will be the first to comment

1947 -Crocker Ridge-Hwy 120 going into Yosemite Natl. Park- I was hunting the road that goes along the Fence line that Seperates the park from Private property; It was october, a n Early Snowstorm drove the deer out of the Park. i counted 105 Deer killed in one day. Bloody mess. I have never Hunted Deer since.

Hunted and Killed People during the Korean War;

Have not Hunted Since.

I think that anyone who Hunts has that right under our Laws, It is their own Free will and Accord.

Skeet

Since anyone has the right to hunt under our laws, and you think they can do so of their own free will, Do you not think that I being am liberal has the right under our laws to be a liberal of my own free will without someone criticizing that fact. Oops should be in off topic? Answer me there.

I think this whole thread is off topic.

Pompano - 2-21-2006 at 04:32 PM

Bruce....I am puzzled. What is off topic about fishing or hunting in Baja? Is it because I did not include the word 'Baja'....easily fixed.

p.s. I wrote this poll because I wanted a handle on HOW MANY Nomads fish, hunt , or do neither. That is all. Your aside comments are your comments. Feel free. Just please take the poll. It will make a difference in my future enjoyment in posting on the forum. Muchas gracias.

Fish, fish, and fish again....Don't hunt but find nothing wrong with those that hunt...

We are, after all, "hunter, gatherers".....satisfy the provider instinct...

I think it's been bred out of toooooo many Norte Americanos.

I fish and hunt. Allthough I've never hunted in Baja I would love the chance. I saw so many dove on my way to San Felipe on Sunday it was amazing. I've heard good things about pheasant hunting as well.

Just make another poll Roger and you could add both neither or rarely hunt/fish so you get more participants. You cannot edit the poll itself.

Hunting was once big time in Baja, but social trends and difficult gun importation laws have done their number. I think most hunting in Baja is done with a guide or club that provides the firearms.... ???

I both hunt and fish, now rarely. I used to hunt quite a bit (upland game) but as I now live in Mexico it's just too much of a hassle. I never fished for sport or trophy hunted and detest those who do.

As a young man I both hunted and fished. I am now trying to learn saltwater fishing in Baja. I no longer hunt, but would for food, if I had to. I don't think it is wrong, just don't want to. I would still kill a man in defense of family and country.
I would still like to go with hunters and would clean and cook.
I await the day I can fish with Pompano and all Baja amigos.

Grover...sad to say, you were not 'hunting' on that sorry excuse of a duck hunt in San Diego county. Which does not surprise me as I have observed hunting near crowded urban areas...it never seems to have any respect for nature or compassion..only a need for lots of shooting and killing. That 'duck-setup' place sounds more like a felony against nature and sportsmanship. I feel sorry that you did not have a better exposure to the real thing as a teenager. You would have a whole new perspective growing up the way I did, promoting wildlife habitat, only harvesting wildgame for the table under strict parental & state laws, and above all, respecting nature. Maybe you can make a trip Up North sometime for some outings with me...it would be a little better experience, for sure! Guns and rods are optional, but cameras are a must.
