This is a shot of the surf camp at Mag Bay. Southern Hemi doing what is does best, making big waves. Note the pole and tarp sun shades over dome tents
on top of astro turf. Very comfy. The campers scramble to pack up everything that might blow away when a Chubasco wobbles their way. Great fishing
too, 18 miles out is Thetis Bank for dorado, tuna and marlin. Pargo and corbina from the rocks, bass and halibut at the estuary and more.
(This shot was first put up on General Discussion, but I don't think the surfers got a look.)bajanow - 2-27-2006 at 12:57 PM

Hey bajanow, how much?oladulce - 2-27-2006 at 05:32 PM
It's on the "places to visit someday" list . Thanks for the reminder and photo-motivator.bajanow - 2-28-2006 at 11:23 AM
There is a website for the surf camp magbaytours.com. The price is around $1,000 plus airfare. Why be on a mountain when the surf is
pumping? There are 12 hours in a day to surf. I've gone several times, but not on the trip which generated the photo. I was there for Hurrican
Guillermo and a long period South. Only a few photos of that because I was in the water. They photos must be scanned before I can put them up.Tomas Tierra - 2-28-2006 at 03:05 PM

which spot is Pta Tosca??bajanow - 3-3-2006 at 11:53 AM
Punta Tosca is on the south end of Isla Santa Margarita. The Mag Bay surf camp is tucked inside of Punta Hughes on Isla Magdalena, north of Margarita.
Have you heard of a good wave at Tosca?Tomas Tierra - 3-3-2006 at 12:06 PM
uh uh uh .....maybe...
I thought that was the main break for the surf camp??oladulce - 3-4-2006 at 11:33 AM

Tomas, Tomas, my friend... (sigh)
I've been known to share a little too much so I have lots of practice.
Try this:
"oh, did I say Tosca? I meant uh, ... Tomate".Tomas Tierra - 3-4-2006 at 04:12 PM
