Hello all,
I'd like to get feedback from those who make the daily commute to work in the states. How bad is the morning rush crossing San Ysidro? When does it
"ease up" a bit in the morning? Please share your experiences. Thanks.
p.s., I did a search to see if this was answered before already and no luck; also thought this is the correct place to post. sorry if i accidently
broke rules

You don't have to be so tenative,
this is a very open forum, even if it sometimes resembles the WWF.
The border is what it is, sometimes very long and sometimes very short.
You need to shape your question in a more narrow fashion.
What time and what day do you want to cross?
What road are you going to use from TJ to what gate, and, what road are you going to use from Rosarito to what gate?
In general, starting from several miles south of Rosarito to TJ on the free road with no problems, 45 minutes (38 miles).
Border wait, always 30 minutes, sometimes two plus hours.
It is what it is.

For jobs in the US that start around 7:30-8:30, you need to get in line about 5:30 am. I happened to be crossing at this time (finishing up a trip
where we drove all night - pockets of dense fog slowed the trip), and they are ruthless. We accidentally got in a line which doesn't open until 6 am,
and tried to merge with one of the open lines. Nobody will let you merge. We offered them $5 to let us cut in line, and he said he was sorry, but
he'd be thrashed if he let us in. We waved the $5 at another, and he gave us the cut throat motion. We had to be very aggressive to nose our way in.
I wouldn't want to do that every day.

Hi,
I'm interested in knowing what the crossing would be like if I need to be at a job in the US side by 9 to 9:30am ... most likely would be traveling to
the Poway area and to UCSD area. Thanks.

9:30 is`nt too bad. There can be a little window there after the job/student rush. I got in line a few weeks ago @ 9:45 and was across in 15 minutes.
I`d guess you`re looking at bewteen 15 minutes and 45 minutes.

You need a badbut attitude to cross the border.
You also need a strong car because theyll beat it , scratch it, and spit on it,
if you want to change lanes.
I crossed the border from 94 to 2001.
Thank God I bought a home here in SD.
You never know with the border usually there will be on average 150 cars
at anygiven time. Sometimes your lucky and there wont be that many
but stop kiding yourself its crapy 100% of the time.....
