how far (time/miles)from canyon guadalupe hot springs is san felipe?

Going back to Highway 2 - the route that runs between Tecate and Mexicali, then south on Highway 5 would be the quickest route, and by far the
easiest.
32/33 miles from the Guadalupe camp to Highway 2 - if the dry lake route is dry, the 25 miles across are as fast as you dare drive. The "bad weather"
route, or higher road is favored with considerable washboard for 25 or so miles.
To Mexicali is another 25 miles on Highway 2. Then south to San Felipe is 125 miles, mostly very good highway with a few winding miles through some
hills.
It would take us 4 hours driving our Jeep. Most folks drive faster than we do.
Dirt road route? Are you interested in soft sand? Certainly a few miles shorter, faster in a race car. Plus I'd recommend two vehicles on the dirt
route for insurance. And you gotta have a bit of self-reliance. Lastly, if it has rained the shorter dirt route to San Felipe might be way too much
fun.

I have the GPS data for the dirt road route from Guadalupe Canyon to the San Felipe highway (at the Sand Dunes, 60 miles north of S.F.) or up to Hwy.
3 via Mono canyon... in my GPS web page at VivaBaja.com and in my notebook... both linked at the bottom of my posts here.
As John M says, it is far faster to drive back north to Hwy. 2 and go through lower Mexicali to Hwy. 5 for San Felipe.

thanks for the info. I'm heading down next wed. with my boys and want to stay one night there before heading south to San felipe area. My first trip
in two years and i'm excited to get back and especially to have my boys try their first fish taco.

If you are heading there for a Friday or Saturday night you might want to have a reservation. John
