We need to know how long our Post will stay on the Board?

Are all posts deleted by one of the posters or the Owner?

Can we post any issue or will it be deleted each day?

BajaNomad - 3-17-2006 at 05:05 PM

Skeet,

Let me know if you need help logging in. Most of your posts are still up, so I don't think there's a problem with them being deleted on accident - by the owner or anyone else.

Have a great weekend. ;)

Bruce R Leech - 3-17-2006 at 05:06 PM

I think f you git a user name and sign in you have a better chance of having your posts stick around

Doug: I sent two request concerning the Posts that I made on your board.

This post is the first and only answer I have received!

Questions: Was I unregistered as I requested?

Was all of my Posts Deleted?

Will it be necessary to reregister and delete each, one at a time?

I would appreciate your cooperation in this matter.

thank You Skeet/Loreto

Skeet, just take a vacation from Nomad, but never leave us... please!

By the way, you can delete your own posts, but all of the replies will remain below the original unless those Nomads delete them as they probably won't make any sense with the original gone...

Anyway amigo, please stay...

Skeet,

Don and I didn't always agree with what you said, but we always enjoyed the way you said it, and we'll miss reading you.

Hope you change your mind,

Paula

Loreto

The bumpy streets,the quiet pace,
The calm content on every face.

The roosters crowing day and night,
Not one is heeding dark or light.

Profuse arrary of stars hang low,
Create an awe-inspiring show.

The sun is brighter, air more clear,
And when I hold my breath I hear,

The sound of living all around,
A laughing child, a barking hound.

The spark'ling sea forgets to roar
as it caresses rock and shore.

Silv'ry fish go skittering by
Frigates and gulls command the sky.

Pelicans dive and sardines run.
To them its life, to us it's fun.

Fishermen leave at early light
returning home before it's night.

Happy faces weathered and tan,
Knowing here, a man is a man.

Sands of desert and beach combine
with lava rock from some past time.

Cactus and palms grow side by side
and cli, bing blossoms try to hide

among the branches, leaves and thorn
splashing brightness, color of corn.

Palo Blanco, graceful Pitaiya
Cirio, Cardonm, Tree of Fire.

God let imagination soar
when he designed this desert floor.

And, hopefully, someday you'll find
with sham and pretense left behind,

What seems like desert up ahead
is lush oasis insted.

Your very special secret place
where you, yourself come face to face.

Amd when you do, you'll almost see

some part of what it means to me.....Loreto

Adios

Excellent !!!!!!!!

Barry A. - 3-18-2006 at 06:48 PM

I have this vaguely disturbing feeling that I know who the "anon" author of this poem with supurb emotion is, and I do hope that he does not really mean, "Adios".

Fishing in Baja

Anonymous - 3-18-2006 at 07:06 PM

A whiff of coffee
And butter-smothered pop tarts
Reaches my nose.
A familiar call wakes me
And I roll off the sleep-softened
Bajo bed, opening my eyes.
Dad shuffles around the
tiny trailer kitchen
Gathering up Bimbo bread,
Goat cheese, pimentos,
Some Carte Blanca for him
Vitas for me, hopefully grape.
Methodically, I pull on my swim suit
then sweats to keep me warm
from the 4 am breeze.
My hair goes into a ponytail
and Chapstick on puffed kips.
Iload the duffel-bag with
Beach towels, pinky zinc creme,
and snorkel gear while Dad
Picks out rods and bright
Colorful Lures.
Everything is put into place
Aboard the La Patricia
only few words exchanged
on this sleepy day.
Opening the crude gate, our cow bell clanks.
My Dad goes bumping along
on that short dirt road
pushing my boat toward the midnight blue water.
I pull the gate shut
And walk behind the Truck
A grin on my sun-baked face.

Patricia

Dear Dad

Anonymous - 3-18-2006 at 07:33 PM

I owe you so much for the guidance you've given,
The Love you've shared and the roads you've driven.
You're my very best friend and you know it's true,
That's why I've written this poem to you...

I peered across the border in wonder and excitement
to the hills of Tjuana shimmering in the sun.
I rode through poverty and laundry on the lines,
Down by the Pacific and all the condo signs.

The desert enchanted me with its beauty and solitude
As time stood still through canyons where cirios grew,
then exploded into eternity as I viewed the whole world
from atop the hogback where the road unfurled.

We pulled off the road and camped for the night,
and awoke to the first timid fingers of light,
with drowsy eyes and steaming cup of coffee,
we watched the sun rise in silent ecstasy.

Surrounded by hillss of black, red and white,
Painted on a whim by God's loving might,We climbed to the volcano, majestic in stature
And plunged down to the Sea and its turqouise rapture.

Loreto, nestled in palms reaching for the sky,Hugged by the towering mountain peaks high,
Captured my heart and offered my soul peace
for I'd found the primitive paradise I'd seeked.

Cruising along with the dolphins, whales and rays,
snorkeling and exploring the isolated bays,
Exciting days fishing and discovering the Sea.
Finding the meaning of Life for me.

Lazy afternoons napping on Tio's swing,
Friends dropping by, fish to clean,
sensuous showers in the dark by flashlight,
moonlit walks on the beach every night.

Through your never-ending love and giving,
I;ve finally found my reason for living.
Now I know a satisfaction I've never had
and I wanted you to know, I'm so proud you're my Dad!

I confess!

It was me trying to stay on this Great Board .

The two poems posted about Fishing in Baja were writtin by my two Daughters!
Both hang on my wall here in Texas so that I am reminded of the many great times of enjoyment as I took them to Loreto when they were so Young.

No forgiveness needed !!

Thank you for allowing us into a bit of your life. I think we all got to know Skeet a bit better and most of us are enriched for the experience. You are a wonderful part of Nomads and even more so with the addition of your daughter(s).

Nomads has become a family with many individuals caring for many others. Good people and good times !

Success and best wishes in all your new endeavors, Skeet !

Hey, Daddy, remember me in your book when it comes to copyright laws, ok? I mean, I did write one of the Anonymous poem, so, to quote my favorite father, "when you make your first million, you can give me half"

Do they still sell pop tarts in Loreto, or do we have to bring a whole summer's supply?????

Skeet/Loreto - 4-27-2006 at 04:52 AM

Trish; I am not sure about the Pop Tarts! But I do remember the first time Domingo's Wife received the first shipment of cottage cheese to come to Loreto! The road had just opened and Milk was being delivered from TJ , it was in 2 Liter Plastic Bags.

As far as the Book, I will give you credit, when it is Published! If I can remember where I put my chapter!
Just bought an new gadget that allows me to record, transfer to my computer, called a Dragon or something like that, turns words into Print.
