I anticipate buying a vehicle(meyers manx) w/mexican license... I was told by my taxi driver that I need a Mexican drivers license to do so.... any
online site(well maybe) where I can get what I need to study and the requirements... I saw the 1/2006 posting that said I needed a doctor's o.k. plus
a written test.... any nomads gone through this process lately... I'll be in the Los Barriles(thanks bajajudy) and would like to complete the process
there??????

Jack, You are welcome!
I have never heard of a dr being necessary but you do need a blood test card that has your blood type on it. I have always thought that it was pretty
smart to put this information on your license in case of an accident.
I didnt have to take a test but that was several years ago.
I believe that you go to the delegation there in Los Barriles to take the test but someone from there would know better.
As always I will preface this with this statement....although it is different everywhere, I got pulled over during a routine check, driving my mex lic
vehicle and only had my ca lic with me so I gave it to them. They looked at it my registration and sent me on my way. Not one word about where is
your mex lic. I dont believe that it works the other way....if you are driving a car with US plates you have to have a US lic. My insurance agent
told me that they can confiscate the vehicle if a Mexican driver has an accident in a us plated vehicle.
When are you moving down?

I am practicing for retirement... I intend to buy the casita within the next two weeks and begin restoration... then it will be frequent(every 4-5
weeks for 5-6 days) visits... I have suddenly found that I have several nephews/nieces that have a "loooong" interest in spending time in Baja..."how
soon will the house be ready?"... amazing........

In San Felipe, you have to have a slip from a Dr. with blood type on it. Must come from specified Dr. here Central de Salud or Red Cross

Interesting. Here we go to a clinic get the blood work done and they give you a card with your name and blood type and who typed it.
Did you have to take a written test, Lou?

I got a Mexican drivers license in Loreto about 3 weeks ago. I took with me only my FM-3. The clerk asked me what was my blood type and I told her.
She took my Loreto address off my FM-3, took my mug shot with a digital camera connected to her computer and in less than 10 minutes I walked out with
a drivers license. The license is plastic and has on it my digital photograph and blood type as I reported it. The cost was around 380 pesos.

I forgot to add that there was no test and I was not asked to show a US drivers license.

i think there is the entire key jack....
FM3 to buy
You cannot register or drive a Mx Plate car w/o an FM3 or better
FMT doesn't cut it...

Bill maybe they confused your last name with
earnhardt so no driving test was needed

B & S..........I'll bet that is it. The lady did mention a number of times observing the posted speed limits.
