question on Moon handbooks of Baja

BAJACAT - 3-29-2006 at 10:22 PM

On page 377 the cape region it reads La Paz and vecinity it shows a church in the middle of what it seems to be nowhere?, any body on where this place is or actually where is this church located and maybe a name for this church.. Gracias....

I have the 2003 5th edition and that page (377) is a photo of Mision San Javier... But it is in the Loreto and Vicinity section.

The church in the La Paz and Vicinity section is on page 391 in my edition and is the church in the middle of the city facing the plaza... Nuestra Se?ora de la Paz

Can you scan and post the church you are asking about? Strange there is no caption under that photo?

I have the sixth edition I got it from DBaja , the picture is in black&white but you can see the bright colors from the church some kind of ruins nearby the chuch has two towers and a small white building to the front of it.. no caption on this pic. Dk only this name KAT KALAMARAS

Hmmmm... Odd there is no caption under the photo... Kat Kalamaras sounds like European spelling for an Indian word, as there are no original Spanish words using K that I can think of.

Anyone else?

Kat Kalamaras is a photographer for the company that publishes the Moon Handbooks series - Avalon Publishing.

It is El Truinfo from the rear, I think

Not a great photo of the front but all I can find at this time

I think does it, Bajajudy, that building in the left looks like the one in the B&W picture, it look so inviting so I need it to find out where this place was.
Thanks every body ..:bounce:

El Triunfo

El Truinfo warrants a stop. Not only is this church there but there is also a piano museum. The town ladies make some beautiful baskets, too. There are some interesting old buildings still standing from the mining days.

Another aspect of the church - requires "Quicktime":

There's another pic of the church in this photo gallery online:
