Headed down to central Baja early march 14 at 5.30 am with the anticipation running high because we knew there was gonna be a swell starting late
Wednesday. That would allow us to drive 400 miles and get camp set up and relax before the swell hit. Lunch was at "La Mijita" in El Rosario. This is
a place owned by Elsa, who is the daughter of, and sister of our friends at Spot X, Mercedes and Israel. It is located south of the Delegation on the
same side of the street next to Espinoza?s store. Stop in. The food is homestyle-nothing fancy and the folks could use the biz. Four fish tacos and
two quesadillas along with two packs of tortillas (forgot them at the store!). $8.00 and we were only half way to our destination.

Wednesday the surf was SMALL. The day was beautiful, though. 75-80 degrees and no clouds. kinda just met the other campers and relaxed, you know,
VACATION!!!
Thursday it was up to take a leak at 5.30 and OH YEAH, surf's on. One guy out so I pulled on my suit and quietly woke Scott. Surfed until 7.30 with
only five of us. The surf was best at low tide (afternoon) when the wind was blowing, but it was still good. We surfed three times that day.

Friday was waist high again. Every muscle in my aging body was aching. I must have got 30 waves yesterday! I surfed in the morning alone for only
about 25 minutes. Getting old sucks!

We then decided to go fishing since the tide was coming up, down to the south end of the beach a couple of miles. On the second cast I got this
personal record 24" 3.5 lb corbina in two feet of water using clams for bait.

Scott wanted to surf again so we had lunch and he went back out for a couple of hours. He said it was the best day of surfing in his life. He was
catching tons of waves.

Lunch that day was fresh clams with Pico de Gallo. A perfect treat to end the perfect trip. We got in, got surf, and got out with nothing more than a
flat tire.
