I know I have read somewhere some suggestions, but does anyone have suggestion on Hotel/Motel from San Quintin to Cabo with safe parking (from theives)

Say, Durango - I used to live 1/2 mi. n/o Trimble on the County Rd ... 203? Moved downtown just before the fire. Wish I was still there.

There are a number of places in Guerrero Negro with secure parking, but I'll leave it to more experienced Nomads to put up the details.

We've driven many times down Baja and never had our car broken into. We try to stay in places with enclosed parking, but not necessarily guarded parking. Some motel suggestions we've stayed at:

San Quintin-- molino viejo
El Rosario-- bajacactus
Guerrero Negro-- Malarimo
Mulege-- Serenidad
Loreto-- Iguana Inn
La Paz-- Gardenias
All are in the guidebooks for details, and there are many other great places to stay in these towns. The place I would most want secure paking is in Cabo San Lucas. Generally, Baja is as safe as anyplace.

We've stayed several times at Motel Chavez in San Quintin, which has protected off-street parking, reasonable rates and even hair-dryers. Good traditional food at the restaurant next door.

Durango - We used to do the drive 3/4/6 times annually -- for us it was a drive to our destination, not a drive of leisure ..

Spend a night in GN - we have always stayed at Malarrimo. Have seen a few threads discussing where to stay/not stay in GN... Rooms are clean. Showers hot. Good/decent food - T always has their carne asada! Secure parking. Nice people! Reasonable pricing.

We stay in Loreto at a place called Hacienda Suites de Loreto - next door to the landmark restaurant spot El Nido. Hotel website is www.haciendasuites.com Secure parking, a/c, hot showers, clean. Easy in/out access. Around usd $40 +/- per nite

Next day arrive safely in Cabo around 3pm.

Well, it really can be dangerous parking in Baja, y'know.

In 1969, the shifter knob was stolen from my MGB sports car with the top down on a Saturday nite in Ensenada! Vile criminals.

Nothing else in the last 35 years of Baja tho ...

On the many trips we have taken we have always stayed at the Los Ciros
in San Quintin. It is one block East of the Hwy and near the Water Tower and Clinic. there is a Rec. Room, and protection.

The only thing I ever had stolen in Baja Norte was when I parked at the McDonalds in TJ. Someone lifted my tool box while inside eating. I had foolishly forgot to put inside the Cab of the Truck. Insurance covered the loss with no questions ask.{All Snap-on Tools}.

1/4 mile past the inspection point is the turn to Guerrero Negro the town....

there's onlty one street and Malarimo is about 2 miles down on the right...

you can't miss it.

Is the inspection no longer at the state border (eagle monument)??

The junction going west for Guerrero Negro is/was (?) 2 miles south of the border... Malarrimo Restaurant is along the road into town... :?:
