I'll be driving from L.A. to Los Cabos in May. I plan to stop at the El Rosario Pemex late on day 1 (thanks Antonio!) and drive through the night to
Mulege. Does anyone know the hours of operation for the Pemex at Mulege?Bruce R Leech - 4-17-2006 at 09:41 AM
they open at 7 am and close at 10 or 11 pm. only the one south of tow is open and yesterday they only had one pump going. very long lines.Bob and Susan - 4-17-2006 at 10:21 AM
Last week Mulege Pumps on the MEX 1 were open every day...
no lines at the diesel pumps
gas lines were only 2 cars deep and the attendents were working as fast as possible.

Thanks Bruce, Bob and Susan!
I'll probably be taking on 30-35 gallons of Magna Sin. Are you aware of any limits? Also, do you know if they take Visa / Mastercard?
Last, can you recommend a place nearby for breakfast?Bob and Susan - 4-17-2006 at 11:06 AM
bruce takes credit cards...but
the gas station only takes CASH!!!
La Palapa across the street has a good breakfast.Diver - 4-17-2006 at 11:07 AM

Sure you want to drive through the night? Night driving is different in the baja, no?Bob and Susan - 4-17-2006 at 01:27 PM
if you cross the border at 5am you will easily be in Mulege by 8pm
it's just getting dark then....bajalou - 4-17-2006 at 01:59 PM

I don't think driving 13 hours straight thru in Baja (or anywhere else) will ever be called "easy" by me.Timbercrete - 4-17-2006 at 02:24 PM
....whats the hurry? Avoid the night drive. I lost count of the number of dead animals along side the road last week, from car strikesbajarich - 4-17-2006 at 02:59 PM
The last time I drove back, I saw a group of 6 dead horses near the ranches between San Ignacio and Guerro Negro. I have driven Baja at night, but no
more. It's true, there is almost no one on the roads after dark, only you, the animals, and the Mexican without his lights on.roundtuit - 4-17-2006 at 07:36 PM
El Rosario, Baja Catus next to Pemex first day. Short drive to Mulege next day short drive. Pemex south of Mulege pumping gas todayPompano - 4-18-2006 at 05:18 AM
A barrel of crude oil just climbed to about $70 a barrel in trading this morning. U.S. pump prices appear to be headed for over $3 gallon gasoline by
July 4th...Today's national average is already around $2.78 per gallon.
It seems Mexico prices will be quite a bit lower...unless they hike, too. How does this affect your road travel plans in the USA versus Baja?
Anybody going to change their routes? Maybe a good time to head back to Baja!
