We all have our vision/idea (or multiple visions/ideas) of what Baja means to us. Below is one of mine (one among many).
What photo have you taken that best captures your idea of Baja?

Baja has many 'favorite places' for me... 'Shell Island' is one of them (approx. 20 miles south of San Felipe)

Husband reminded me to be a little careful because this forum (the internet) is open to all. Sometimes I forget I'm not just sitting around a campfire
swapping stories.
Yep, that was me. Maybe I can doctor the photo to disguise myself cause I love the shot of the wave perspective and the view of the mesas. And I do
long for warm water!

I love those mesas. Bet I admire them 100 times a day. Brilliant orange at sunrise, stark red lava at noon, glowing peach at sunset, deep lavendar
during rain. Summer thunderstorms hover over them and lightening smacks them for our entertainment. Water 'em a little and the tops turn green like a

Shark fins ???
I watched a panga unload and cut the fins off about 10 sharks at Punta Arena in February. They didn't even save the meat. It wasn't fun to watch !
Diver--------
Barry A. - 5-3-2006 at 09:23 PM
---it has apparently been going on for years. We saw three Panga loads of sharks butchered the same way at Punta Chivato about 12 years ago-----right
in front of our camp. At least they did haul off the fin-less sharks out to sea about 500 yards and dumped the whole mess in the sea. Kept only the
fins which were loaded into a fridgerated truck beside our campsite. Took the next tide to clean up the beach------this went on litterally 10 feet
from where we were sitting under our canvas palapa. We never said a word, but it sure was not fun to watch, and contemplate.

Yes shark fins, but this is the co-op at Punta Lobos in T.S. and they did not waste anything. Even the jaw was carefully carved out. I do not condone
it, but all most likely, went to CSL. Every time I have been there they have had some sharks. I don't go there enough to know for sure, but I don't
see them bringing in a lot of fish. I go there to buy my dinner, but they only had shark and lobsters the last couple times.

what's the story with the sea turtle release?
Hi there, there were three turtles found by students tied up in the mangroves at Conception bay. It was reported to authorities and they were
removed and brought to the Loreto Marine Park personnel who nursed them back to healty. They were released in front of a small crowd of about two
dozen people. Fortunately the panga cooperativa told me about it so I brought my kids to come watch. It was awesome so see and I wish they'd do
things like this more often. Man, once they found the water they took off like rockets!
launch ramp? We don't need no steeeenking launch ramp !!!
