San Jose del cabo area

It has been years since we stayed in this area. We are going there June 3-10. I remember Victors for fishing and a restaurant with a garden setting, but not much else. We usually head for the East Cape. Could some of you up-date me on dining & fishing? Any help will be appreciated.

Many of us would be interested to know how many years has it been since you have driven from San Jose to the East Cape area?

Last fall. We rented a car at the airport. Spent a week. Real Estate was going sky high. I missed my opportunities years ago. I satill love the area.

I would fish out of La Playita while you still can experience the "thrill of a lifetime" landing. See photos to follow:

http://www.gordobanks.com/ if you want to have something lined up ahead of time. Or Antonio or Tomas who take reservations at the beach under the palapas.

The restaurant is probably Damiana and there are now many more that have better food. My favorite is El Chilar.

You will probably get lost the first time you try to go out to the East Cape. From San Jose, across the arroyo(you know that place that smells like roses where the road begins), when you come to the first traffic circle(glorieta) go around 3/4 and head up the hill to the next glorieta and go around 3/4 again. You will then be on the new road which is paved all the way to the turn off for Buzzards. The rest is pretty much the same as far as the road goes but hold on to your shorts for all the new construction you will see. I would guess that the population density between La Playita and Cabo Pulmo has at the least doubled, quite possibly tripled.

U2U me if you have any specific questions.
