Driving to Cabo

Planning on driving to Cabo, leaving Ensenada early Friday morning.....if all goes well and If I can make good timing, would it be too far to say I will arrive by late Saturday ? Assuming I drive from early morning to late hours (8:0PM ). My trip will begin at the end of June, have 9 days total to get some baja miles on my truck. Suggestions?

Yes, I'd say that's way too far.

Well, I drive from the border to Loreto and get there in the early afternoon on the second day. So with an Ensenada start, you should be able to get to La Paz...maybe farther.

The problem is that the highway is the last highway one would want to really push for speed or distance. You shouldn't go too fast, you shouldn't drive it while tired, and shouldn't travel long distances after dark. Especially driving it for the first time.

Rather than spending an extra day traveling each way I'd consider a shorter trip, saving Cabo for some other day.

Go for it. Ball & jack it all the way so you can kick back in those southern climes for a few days before screamin' home

we like to leave in the afternoon from CA and get PAST Ensenada.

Then leave at 5AM the next morning and arrive in Mulege about 3PM

Comming home it's all in one day...

It's a LONG LONG:saint: drive.

Great feedback. Much appreciate all the feedback from experienced baja drivers....I will direct myself to Loreto and hang loose for a few days there, then explore the trip north.

Try the bake clams in El Nido restaurant, good luck
