I understand there are a number of internet cafes in baja, including Loreto, that I can stay in touch with Nomads and other friends.
Am I able to set up an e-mail account there to have people send me things? I'm sure there is a fee for using the computers, does anyone know what it
costs?
Also, anyway to transfer photos onto one of those public computers to attach to an e-mail?

There are 4 internet cafes currently in town and more each day it seems. The cost is 10 pesos per 1/2 hour. Some places have scanners, I believe Casa
Soledad and the new one located on the corner of Madero and Juarez. The other two are located , next door to Cafe Ole and across from the Pemex on
Juarez.

Aside from the Internet Cafes' , many hotels, resorts, bars and tourist hotspots are joining the ranks. Inquire locally as there are new connections
continually being hooked-up.
I was able to get on the internet on my Cingular cellphone in Mulege but unable to make regular calls with it A wireless laptop is what I should have there. Progress!Roberto - 5-2-2006 at 01:11 PM

There is no need for you to set up an additional email account. As long as you have Web access to the current one, you will be able to access it from

Before we got set up at home I like the one that our SKY TV dealer has, on (I Think) Heroes of the Independence, behind (north) of the Juarez Pemex.
Low rates, lotsa accessories. Air conditioned. But there are a bunch all over the place, finding a computer will be a snap.
The obvious one you'll see by Cafe Ole will charge double what others charge.
Most email accounts can be reached two ways...through a set up email program on your own computer, or, on a public computer, by going to that email

The Baja Big Fish Company on Madero Street has a wireless hotspot and great espresso drinks. You can pick up the unprotected signal from the Posada de
Los FLores in much of downtown.
A wireless laptop is what I should have there. Progress!
