What is the most practical direction I should follow leaving Las Vegas and heading south... which insurance company for a 12 day policy?? what time should I hit the recommended border crossing??? pick up the visa there??? Pulling a small trailer w/new UTV(Arctic Cat Prowler) is the best place to stay first night G.N. or ??? which motel??? Thanks for your responses....

Thanks this is my first drive down in more than 25 years....

You can purchase your policy before leaving home for the days you are in Mexico at http://www.bajabound.com I have used them often when I didn't have an annual policy.

The Tijuana border is open 24/7 as is the INM office (immigration) to get your tourist card.

When are you crossing the border... Guerrero Negro is 450 miles south... If you get that far before dark, the Malarrimo is recommended by many... http://www.malarrimo.com

you are looking at about a 5 hour drive from Las Vegas to the border crossing, depending on your speed and traffic.

Wouldn't you go south to Tecate' ??
It is THE best place to cross.
A little longer drive to Ensenada but well worth it.

If you cross early you may make GN.
If you hit El Rosario less than three hours before sunset, I would stay with Bajacactus.

I guess the other option is La Pinta in Catavinia but it's a bit overpriced.
