going to be in Loreto for the summer. is the postal service reliable these days? how long do things usually take to arrive from up in CA?

Got lots of questions, Trish.
Don't count on a PO Box. I think there are only about 300-400 for the town. We have one but I don't know what it cost. Maybe Paula knows.
So far, the mail has been reliable for us, but not fast. Maybe 10 days to/from the states. Maybe a month for a magazine. We got a Christmas tree
ornament from my sister-in-law for Christmas. It came the day we were taking the tree down. Well into january. Took a month.
Lots of outgoing mail goes with departing gringos to be mailed in the states.
