Does anybody know of a good shop in Ensenada which does A/C repair? My 1987 F250 requires an older type of freon gas which is not readily available
in the U.S anymore; I've been told that it's possible to convert my system to utilize the newer freon available for the new cars but it sounds sort
of hokey. Thanks for any info you might have.

Maybe the conversion would work in the old Ford, but I have a friend who converted and old VW Vanagon and it didn't work well so he changed it back.
The R-34 is not as efficient as the R-12 so it needs a larger system to work well. I also have an old Vanagon, so when I'm in Baja I just stop at an
auto parts place and pick up some R-12 and charge my system myself. It only costs about $9-$10 per can and you can buy the charger kit for a few
dollars. R-12 in the States has being phased out and is very expensive if you can get it ($50 or more per can). These old vehicles won't be around
forever so it's probably not worth the money to convert if you are traveling to Mexico where you can still get the R-12. I'm sure you could find a
place to charge it, because it's still legal down there.
