Would anyone like to share information about camping conditions on the beaches north of Guerro Negro, say for 30-40 miles ? Of particular interest is
safety -wifes' concern- water temperatures in June for surfing/boggie boarding, and camping conditions. I have heard that the area is perpetually
windy.
The idea is camping for a few days on the beach ( four wheel drive and a tent camper) with teenage boys and then a hotel stop in between. The wife is
concerned that the locals maybe unfriendly with all the immigartion turmoil in the US. Is the hotel, La Pinata, I thinks, a reasonable place to stay?
Will post a trip report if it works out.

there are a lot of places to camp and surf. however, june is not the time of year for surf in that area. you need to go farther south (south of the

Laguna Manuela & Variety Beach have camping options... Both are west of Villa Jesus Maria. Take paved side road west from town 3/4 mile, then wide

I llive 3 hours south of GN and our beach is fabulous for boogie boarding, surfing and the natives are very friendly!! The water is still super cold
and wet suit is needed (we rent them and boards too here) and it can be windy so it's good to find a sheltered spot to camp if tenting. At Tomatal, a
nice beach half an hour north of GN, there are places in the dunes to camp and there is a cool little campground with little palapas which are great
to get out of the wind and hang out, it's called Playa Esmerelda and is at the north end of Tomatal, which is only a short hop off the highway. Be

Woody, it can get very good......but after traveling that far its kind of a stock spot....to close to the Hwy for me, but the surf cranks!! River
