Sorry Norcal, the road is as it usually is, crappy, lots of washboard, long and dusty...no change although promises of paving are in the air. Fishing
is improving as the water temp has started to warm up and fish are showing now, lots of feed in the water, birds and dophins are loving it. Drop in

Yes it is, but it's not half way...the new part they paved about 4 years ago was only from the water pumping station to the Asuncion turn off, about
30 km (which was the worst part of the dirt road) The remaining couple hours is still rather nasty, but not as nasty as some...it's all relative I

The road is washboard but good... unless as Sheri says, "it rains". then it turns to slick as .... (the road was built up from surrounding mud).
If it has not been graded then as most Baja roads... Go slow or race on top and fix your truck later.Skipjack Joe - 5-28-2006 at 06:58 PM

I'm glad you liked my pictures...the road from vizcaino that is paved has some new potholes you have to be very careful of...they fill them every once
in awhile but yesterday we went and they were pretty bad...also watch the dunes that can cover half the road. The dirt road has some knarly washboard
in parts and we took the little side road which is much smoother if they haven't graded the road (which they do whenever the mood strikes them usually
once every couple of months or when some politicians are coming) Take it at a reasonable speed and you'll have no problem and don't forget to let alot
of air out of your tires on the dirt road, most gringos have way too much air in their tires and blow them out. There is a sandy spot but just don't
slow down and you'll make it through...even motorhomes have made it out here so you'll be fine in your camper. You can camp here with us if you like
till you get orineted and then in
San Roque which is really the bomb for camping! We'll help direct you to the good spots...look forward to seeing you....shari
My husband says the fishing is improving, depending how you want to fish. Off the rocks there are cabrilla, grouper and you can spearfish sheepshead,
