We had our Toyota Forerunner stolen 6/1 at the San Quintin La Pinta. After a full day of visiting the San Quintin Police, Federal Police and Municipal
Administrative Offices we finally continued the trip south. Please be aware that this can happen, even with a locked/alarmed vehicle, nice hotel and
well lit parking. We will never stay in San Quintin again due to the total disinterest of the local police and the night staff at the hotel. Lessons
learned....accurately estimate your MX car insurance with a reputable company, alarm and "club" your car whenever you stop, consider that MX car
insurance will not cover contents. Nobody spoke English in this whole day of sitting around in offices. Fortunately, we had above average Spanish or
it would have been impossible. If you have a theft in Baja, also contact the Tourist Office in Ensenada to file a report. They will contact foreigners
if items are recovered. Other than that, the trip was great |
