Unable to login

Mike Humfreville - 6-21-2006 at 10:42 PM

Hi Doug,

Sorry to bother you but when I try it immediately tells me that my username is invalid.

Any ideas??

Thanks

Debra - 6-21-2006 at 10:46 PM

Glad to hear that you and MA are safe and sound (at home)..........

And, you are logged on, you come up as you.

When did you get in?

BajaNomad - 6-22-2006 at 11:55 AM

:?:

Consider me perplexed, as you're posting is that of someone who is logged in.

Is this still an issue?

Thanks,

Thanks, Guys

Beats the heck out of me, but I see that I'm signed in as me (now there is a disturbing thought!). I think my problem was caused by ignorance on my part.

Thanks for your help.

I stop posting because of this sites unforgiving requirements on how to log in. Who remembers thier password any way. Especially when they send you a case sensitive password. I will continue just read....

Anonymous - 6-22-2006 at 06:22 PM

Well, looky, looky, I have no problemo being anonymous...I only have a problem when I try to work within the system...Maybe this site should rethink its login procedures!

David K - 6-22-2006 at 06:43 PM

You can (and should) change the automatic assigned password for one that is easy for you to remember... This is possible, so why don't you do that? There are over 2,000 registered Nomads last time I looked (a while ago), so it isn't a major problem apparently...

We would love to read your Baja stories, so we want you to be able to post!

David K, I have changed my password a couple of times over the last year. But for some reason, (probably my error), I will be required to start over again...I do not think I am the only one...apparently...

Doug maybe they are having the same problem I have. if they are moving from computer to computer or working out of Internet caf?s. the forum wont let me log on from any other location other than the location where I originally set my password. I think this might have something to do with some filters setting for the IP addresses or something like that. I don't have the same problem with most of the other forums.

Doug,
This is Bob H.... as of today I am unable to log in. Nothing happens when I try to log in, nothing. It just says I'm not logged in.

Had this problem raised multiple times in the past couple of days.

I know of nothing that's changed in the login process - nor have I made any software changes to the site as of late.

The login process is pretty simple (as far as the way the system handles it), and if you've got the right username/password combination (not adding a space character to it - as sometimes people begin or end with an additional space by accident), then all that's really left that could be a problem is that the browser security settings are causing an issue with the system accepting the cookie that gets placed on the local system so that the site can identify you, and thusly have you "logged in."

Out of curiosity, are you using a Microsoft operating system and running auto-updates?

Which browser are you using?

Thanks,

I cheked my U2U messages but don't show anything new. But I have not received any U2U's for some time. I wonder if something is wrong???

Doug, Bob H here again. I am doing nothing different when trying to log on. It just will not accept me.

I'm runnin Windows XP and my browser is Microsoft Internet Explorer. Oh, and I do receive automatic updates.

Bob H - 8-7-2006 at 03:22 PM

Well, my computer's date and time got all screwed up. It moved me up to December for some reason. (maybe a BAD automatic update thingy) I guess you cannot log on if the date is not correct. I changed the date and now I can log on again.
Sorry for all the confusion Doug. But, now I am back to normal.

David K - 8-7-2006 at 05:56 PM

Bob: "Back to Normal"???

This forum is only for crazy Baja nuts!!!

Bob H - 8-7-2006 at 06:58 PM

Mike,

Check your U2U again. I sent it, but it was not showing up in my outbox, so you never received it.

I too am having problems - my own fault, i guess - I have tried to register several times, so my email never matches up with the various id's and usernames. I wish I could talk to a REAL PERSON to help.

Hard to have a live-staff to man the phones for you when it's not a "real business."

;)

(and besides, a detailed email will work best)

If you still want to speak with someone (namely, me), there's always been a contact page for this site:
http://www.bajanomad.com/contact.htm

And while I'm not at the office as often right at the present moment - while I'm nursing a fractured ankle - you might want to use my "customer service" line to reach me currently:
