south of san felipe

I am going down to san felipe and points south , will stay in s/f as i need to keep my oxygen some place besides a tent , want to fish of the shore south of san felipe with in 20 25 miles , any sugestions, also will need a room with kit close to the malecon jim :tumble::spingrin::bounce:

Do you have 4WD and are able to deflate/inflate your tires for beach driving?

Laguna (Rancho) Percebu is one place you can get a 2WD vehicle close to the beach.

We have some friends at KM 8-9 Campo Lobo /Campo Radar that have a couple travel trailers they rent out. Maybe you would be interested in that? But ofcourse it's not anywhere near the Malecon.;)

David i have a jeep cherokee and can get a decent compressor (not those walmart jobs) years ago used to go to a place down there called okies landing, don,t know if its still there,, memedon't want to stay that far out Health reasons, but there is a place on the right hand side that backs on to the malecon and south corner of the main street as you get to the ocean, if still there also gene kira mentioned some trailors a block or so away , but i will find something thanks

Okie Landing (the site) is there... you can see the cement slabs the cabins used to be on, as well as the cave that was the ice house to store the fish between truck runs out... that was back in the 60's.

On another thread, this was recently discussed.

If you can go out for the day and return to a SF motel for your O2 then check out several places between SF and Nuevo Mazatlan for fishing.

The hot spot in the 60's was the bay now called Bahia Santa Maria... on an incoming tide near the high mark... all the corbina you could catch!

Here's a photo from about 1966-67 of my mom with (another) double hook up of delicious corbinas at the bay long before Bahia Santa Maria was created there.

Bait was mussel taken from the docks at Mission Bay. We camped at Nuevo Mazatlan and drove up the beach about a mile to the south entrance point of the bay (we called 'the lagoon' back then).
