I was there last week and it was a mixed bag. Down at the muelle, the pangeros were bringing in medium size dorados. I saw some decent yellowtails
that were taken up at San Bruno and there were a lot of squid in the area. A fisherman from California told me his party hooked up a small marlin off
of Punta Lobos. Fly Fishin' Pam is your best source for today's report. Don Alley - 6-26-2006 at 10:34 AM

It's great! It's terrible!
Depends on where you go, and when. There have been some good catches of dorado up north, and way south for the folks out of Juncalito for some big
ones, but in between it's been pretty hit and miss. The best bill fish action seems to be to the north and south too, but sailfish are common off the
north end of Carmen. I farmed two Saturday.
So boats coming in may have hit a wide open dorado bite, or gotten just a couple of stray fish, or got nada.
Sargasso....Saturday we saw little, and no patches bigger than a dinner plate. Thursday, fishing a different area, we found three good size patches
with birds sitting on them, two holding dorado and one holding just a turtle
Yellowtail...still biting...good fishing between Pulpito and Isla Ildefonso, with 8 ounce sinkers.
This is info dating back to saturday aftrnoon; I didn't go to the marina and look around yesterday. And things change quickly.
Tuna...about 50 mile out south of town, I don't have the exact location but talked to a guy that drew a blank looking for them yesterday.
Inshore... I haven't done much except for an hour at Carmen, which was OK for pargo and a very nice cabrilla for my friend Jose Luis. I haven't been
out fishing on my kayak locally for about two weeks, when it was very good fishing for barred pargo fro El Baja to Coronado, and I saw good sized
roosters but no strikes on lures.
But just as it's getting real good, I'm done...have to head north, family stuff. I'll probaby come back down for a while in August to fish and enjoy
the pleasant warm sumer climate.flyfishinPam - 6-26-2006 at 02:56 PM
