U2U censorship

Sharksbaja - 7-4-2006 at 10:02 AM

I recently sent a U2U that included the naughty word sh-t. I was shocked that when I received a reply my quote had been altered and the word censored.
Be careful what you say. U2Us are NOT private.

It is an automatic feature on this web site, Doug is not reading everyone's U2U... He actually has a life! No potty mouth words allowed...

So is your message private if it's run thru a screen/filter? Hmmmmm?

Barry A. - 7-4-2006 at 01:30 PM

Doug has said right up front that U2U's are NOT private.

Now, if I could just figure out how to "reply" to the one's that I receive?????? I never know if my u2u's go out, even. My "sent box" is always empty.

hmmmmmmmmm----strange.

Barry,

There is an option (checkbox) in your user profile that will save your outgoing u2u's in the outbox if you desire.

Sharks,

The site's word censor works in an automated fashion, and it's the same list for the forums and the u2us.

Yes I have access to everything here (someone does need to administer to things around here) - including the u2us. No, I don't really look at anyone else's unless a problem has come up.

Regards,

Barry, click on "send U2U" to reply, type in the username of the person you want to send it to, Type your message and click again on send.

BARRY ..I get the same feeling...there is no "reply" button for when you are done and want to send.....never sure if it is sent....

If you want to be sure its sent, just check the out box on the left, also it will tell you if it has been read.

Only if the user has checked the option in their user profile to save outgoing messages to their outbox. If they haven't chosen that option, then there is no record of it in the outbox - and therefore nothing to check on.
